The Fantastic Four – First Steps

I liked it! Why? Well, this won’t be a full blown review but here’s a list of my notes from the movie!

  • It was a “decent” stand-alone movie, did not need Marvel homework.
  • Had its fair share of emotional moments, especially thanks to Marvel not jamming in jokes all the time and the awesome actors and actresses.
  • Something about Pedro Pascal’s face makes me emotional.
  • Johnny Storm was fun and heroic!
  • Ben Grimm made me feel things too, but they were cut short. Wish we had more of him. Ebon Moss-Bachrach’s acting still came through from all the costumes, there was tons of emotion packed into his eyes and face.
  • Sue Storm: emotional backbone, the mother, caretaker. She was awesome. Vanessa Kirby is “beautiful”!
  • Amazing aesthetics! The cars, the TVs, architecture.
  • Galactus: Loved your voice and blazing eyes, man.
  • Franklin Richards: Nice to meet you!
  • Silver Surfer: you have a special place in my heart. Wish we got to spend more time with you too. Although Shalla-Bal did not bother me, I also deeply wish we had Norrin Radd. Actually, a whole show just for him if possible, please. Thank you.
  • Not a big fan of the final conflict and how they solved it with a whole bunch of transportation tech. But whatever, we’ve seen worse. Looking at you, “nanotech”.
  • The cover of the first Fantastic Four issue, they RECREATED IT! Who knows how many more awesome easter eggs I missed?

Overall, I enjoyed it and wish it was longer. I wish there was more of it. Well, hope to see them in the next movie…
